It started with one cabin.
We had been building wooden houses for a decade before we founded The Wooden Story in 2018. Founder's name and the first project, e.g. a cabin for a friend on a hillside. The neighbours asked who had built it. That is still how most of our work arrives.
Since then we have built N homes across Maharashtra: weekend farmhouses in the Sahyadris, beach homes on the Konkan coast, and cottages for resorts that wanted something their guests would remember. We work from our yard at yard location, where every log is cut, treated and numbered before it travels to a plot.
We chose pine because it is light enough to build fast, strong enough to last, renewable, and beautiful without anything added. We chose Maharashtra because it is home, and because its hills and coast deserve homes that belong in them.
